Sorry for the delay in responding but I have only just seen your email.

We live in the Magna Carta Baron town of Trowbridge which was the caput or headquarters
of Henry de Bohun. I have written a booklet on Henry and on the de Bohun family from Humphrey with the Beard de Bohun, godfather of William the Conqueror to the two heiresses, Eleanor and Mary. Mary married Henry Bolingbroke who became Henry IV and was the mother of Henry V..

Edward Seymour, the brother-in-law of Henry VIII [his sister was Jane Seymour] was given the
manor of Trowbridge by Henry VIII. Edward’s wife was Anne Stanhope who was descended
from the de Bohuns.

If you are interested in getting in touch, feel free to do so.

Best wishes,

Andy Milroy

I have been reading with interest about the Magna Carta celebrations. I live in Richmond, Tasmania, Australia, about as far away from England as nearly possible. Through my de Luttrell and Seymour ancestors, I am a descendant of ten of the Barons who signed the Magna Carta. My cousin, David Milne, who lives in Melbourne, Victoria sent me a list of the Barons and how we are related. Thought it might be of interest to your members.
Roger Bigod, 2nd Earl of of Norfolk, William d’Aubigny (24 x great grandfathers); Richard, Earl of Clare, Saher de Quincy, 1st Earl of Winchester, Henry de Bohun, 1st Earl of Hereford, Robert de Vere, 3rd Earl of Oxford, Hugh Bigod ( 23 x great grandfathers); Gilbert de Clare and William de Mowbray (22 x great grandfathers) and Willam Marshal, the greatest knight is a 21 great uncle.
Are there any books published which include biographies of all the Barons? Dr. Edward Luttrell emigrated to NSW in 1804 with his family and was the Colonial Surgeon in Hobart from 1816 and died in 1824 in the town where I now live. Dunster Castle on the West Coast of Somerset being their ancestral home for 400 years until it became a National Trust property. My wife and I visited it in 2012. So, there are many Luttrell’s who live in Australia and particularly, Tasmania.
If you would like to know more information, please contact me.
Regards,
Jim and Lee Milne

My name is Mark Hookham and I’m the transport correspondent at The Sunday Times. I am writing a story for this weekend about the extent to which aircraft noise spoils the historic Runnymede site. I wondered if someone from the association would mind giving me a quick call?

The best number is my mobile: 07792887767.

Regards,

Mark
